So i want to talk today about Dreamcatcher's song July 7th, this song is a personal favorite but i am here to talk about the tale from which this song lyrics are inspired so i'll make this thread hope you enjoy it and learn something new :D so....

July 7th is based on the Qi Xi festival which means "the night of the sevens" because is celebrated on the 7th day of the 7th month and it’s basically the Chinese Valentine’s day.

It commemorates the Chinese tale of Niulang the Cowherd and Zhinu the Weaver girl (which represent the stars Altair and Vega respectively)
The story says that Zhinu was daughter of Xiwangmu, the Queen of the Heaven

One day she came to earth to take a bath and there she met Niulang, they felt in love, Zhinu then decided to stay on the earth without permission and married this guy and they had 2 child (representing stars β and γ from the Aquila constellation)

However Zhinu’s mother found out her daughter married a mortal and sent heavenly soldiers to take Zhinu back by force. Niulang carried their two kids and chased them but the Heavenly Queen with her hairpin created a river (The Milky Way) to keep them apart.

Niulang and Zhinu cried from the bottom of their hearts and the mother was moved so she allowed them to meet only on the 7th day of the 7th month when a flock of magpies makes a bridge for the lovers to cross the river and see each other.

So yeah July 7th tells us the this story and i found it amusing, hands up to LEEZ and Ollounder, also honorable mention to Handong voice asjksa this is my fave bside along with Jazz bar and i wanted to share the story, if i made any mistakes fell free to correct me :3
