Not doing a takeaways article for tomorrow from this game. Most of what happened in this game would just be me repeating myself for one. I’ll give a few thoughts briefly in this thread...
Egor Zamula looked good in his NHL debut. Didn’t stand out negatively, got into some good net front battles, wasn’t afraid to try to get the puck on net. He deserves a good look here in the final seven games.
The first half of the game was the typical poor effort/execution we’ve seen from the #Flyers. This team hardly ever comes out ready to play. Then they are forced to turn it on in the final 20-30 minutes to force a comeback. Sure, they don’t quit, but it’s beyond a bad habit.
In general, the third period of that game looked like a glorified beer league game. Neither team had much structure and it was a generally sloppy period with a lot of strange bounces and plays leading to goals. Ugly hockey from two teams just trying to finish out the schedule.
Alain Vigneault said the #Flyers had a good first few shifts and lost momentum with the four-minute power play that went by the wayside. It sure looked like that, and the missed opportunity early is exactly why the #Flyers fell behind 3-0.
Still two more of these between the #Flyers and #Devils to go. Then five more remain for the #Flyers over the next week.
