I'm wondering about Scott Morrison's recent lightning visit to QLD to chant among his disciples.

Because Morrison does not do anything for nothing.

Everything is transactional.

Allegedly, his polling among Christians has fallen to 49%.

Hmmm. Time to bolster that back up.

Yes, I'm aware the Resolve Poll this data comes from was released on April 20 - the same day the PM flew on a jet we paid for to preach to the converted.

But data can be leaked. Especially to the well connected

His visit was allegedly a surprise, but that may also be explained.

It's more likely than not that Morrison's team knew of his falling vote among Australian Christians & war-gamed his appearance at the Australian Christian Conference for political gain, also knowing full well the appearance would make its way into the media.

They knew the result

Morrison's massive image team also knew the hard & soft media & even the Great White Fence Sitter would fall into line playing out lines like "respect the Prime Minister" + "don't mock Christians" *

(* which nobody is doing. They're mocking Morrison himself - not Christianity)

What happens in these contrived scenarios that are all worked out behind the scenes in the Morrison war room is:

- Morrison gains Christian votes

- the media get to milk the Outrage Machine for their own selfish benefit

- Morrison's base push back, garnering him more sympathy
