Next few days godi journalists build a narrative that Muslims are deliberately jumping on the bridge which is leading to cracks in the bridge. Photos of skullcap wearing Muslims are splashed all over the media and it is called “bridge jihad”. 2/n

The reaction from the general population is swift. There are calls for Muslims to be banned from using all pedestrian bridges across the country. The Print writes an article suggesting that Muslims are committing a crime against humanity by “jumping on the bridge” 3/n

Political leadership weighs in and promises Hindus that laws would be brought in to protect Hindus from “bridge jihad”. Muslims are harassed on social media in the name of “bridge jihad”. Muslims stop using bridges and prefer the longer routes that don’t involve a bridge 4/n

Liberals demand that Muslims introspect & accept modern ways of crossing the bridge bcuz thanks to Nehru Hindus know the modern etiquettes of crossing the bridge but Muslims are being kept backward by the clergy who wont let them learn modern etiquettes of crossing the bridge 5/n

Poop India and “True” indology publish long stories on how Muslims have been using bridges since time immemorial to subjugate Hindus and that bridge jihad is an essential part of “their faith”. 6/n

Some Muslims write apologetic articles as to how “bridge jihad” is minority opinion & the majority of Muslims do not subscribe to the idea of bridge jihad. Asim Gupta blames Turkey,Iran,Saudi et al for the current situation of Muslims where they can’t cross a bridge properly 7/n

Meanwhile, the poor bridge, yes that bridge is still falling apart but that fact is completely lost in the cacophony of bigotry airing on prime time TV & on social media. No one cares about the dilapidation of the bridge anymore as the focus has completely shifted to Muslims 8/n

One fateful day the bridge structure gives in due to lack of repair & maintenance. There are several casualties and a majority of them Hindus because for every 1 Muslim crossing that bridge there were 7 Hindus crossing the same bridge on account of the population distribution 9/n

So here we are, Indians are suddenly finding that they don’t have adequate health infrastructure and the media all these years was focused on issues like triple talaq , tableeghi jamaat etc while the “system” was collapsing in the background. Was it worth it? n/n
