Alexandria, VA is a city with a long and storied history. We’re a fascinating mix of historic, cobblestone streets and Fortune 500 companies.
We have our municipal elections this year, and early voting is currently underway for the primary. There are two candidates on the D ticket (which is the de facto general for mayor)- the current mayor, and the former mayor.
It is TELLING that all the houses that had T***p signs back in November have signs for one of the candidates in the Dem mayoral primary...

I will be voting the other candidate, current Mayor @justindotnet, because his vision is forward-looking.
We can’t rest on Alexandria’s laurels and watch as housing becomes more unaffordable and inequality grows, as some would seek to do. NIMBYism is death for Alexandria. Mayor Wilson’s forward-thinking, fact-and-numbers-based approach to governance is what we need.
For City Council I’ll be supporting candidates with a similar vision. Re-elect @chapman4council and @CanekForCouncil, and bring @KirkMcPike @Alyia4ALX and @SarahforALX on to council.

(Still deciding on my final Council slot!)
I’m voting for an Alexandria that actually looks like Alexandria. Candidates who think Alexandria in 2030 shouldn’t look exactly like Alexandria in 2010. We must grow towards justice, accessibility, and affordability, with a mind towards the effects of climate change.
I’m a life-long Alexandrian. My apartment is half a mile from the house I grew up in, where my mom still lives. The city meandered for quite some time; that won’t work anymore. We need the vision of these candidates to steer our ship. I hope y’all join me in supporting them.
