honestly melee is a good game but not as great as people make it out to be it's got it's flaws it's not a "perfect game" look at many of the glitches they have to restrict from tournament play and many other problems it has. smash is a dead IP and the community is kinda weird.

if you look at melee glitches you'll find 100s of videos on that you'll also find tech that is completely bs and hard to learn too and this tech is required to be good at the game ultimately bringing the barrier of entry and controllers are flawed and wear over time

making doing some of this tech impossible controllers will run out and eventually the only way to play this game is emu and Nintendo "hates mods and online function on a old game that's 20 years old they don't give a fuck about for some reason" because they are spiteful jerks

another issue i see with it if you wanna speedrun melee you also have to learn this tech to get faster times to me that's enough out of hundreds of flaws with the game which i didn't name in this thread. sorry for my hot take but that's the honest truth and

saying it's over-hyped is just me being nice to the game and the people who hype it up.
