My actual vaccine stance: I will take it 2022/23 when clinical trials are fully finished. As a young healthy person who has a level of immunity from having the virus and a good immune system, there is no real reason for me to get it anyway, but I could say the same for the flu.
If my college decides to make the vaccine mandatory, I will write a letter of protest and work to petition against it - I have hopes that this will be successful as even the most pro-vax of my peers understand why mandating a new vaccine is problematic
The more ideological position I take is that since I also go to a ‘public’ college, a public institution has absolutely 0 right to mandate what I do with my body.
The vast majority of those who are vaccinated do so simply to virtue signal, and shame those who do not or have skepticism about it. From the very beginning of the pandemic, the most outspoken ‘trust science’ people were clearly more narcissistic and selfish than anti-maskers.
That being said I have no problem with people genuinely doing it out of fear of the virus or desire for the damn thing to be over with. I’d even say I respect it, and that is true for most people I know irl who’ve gotten it or plan to
The only reason I’m making this thread is because I fuck with people on here a lot who go crazy about vaccines, and I know eventually someone might wonder if my actual opinions are batshit or if I’m just an idiot troll
