too often I& #39;ve seen managers try to deescalate a problem, and actually MASSIVELY escalate it, in entirely predictable ways
and they& #39;re like "well how could we have known?" and I& #39;m like, you could have talked to literally any of the people it upset and they would have told you???

Anyway, this *is* going to blow over for Basecamp, just like the founders say it will.
And what blowing over means is: it will continue to cause problems forever, but behind the scenes in ways that they will never comprehend, and therefore never acknowledge.

As far as I can tell, SO much of modern corporate problem-solving isn& #39;t really about *solving* the problem, so much as diffusing it to the point of unrecognizability
