Boy group can't use their strength on the music chart, why? http://naver.me/xnKYk4sv

K-pop boy groups are seldom to stand tall in the music charts. This is in contrast to their overwhelming presence, sweeping the top of the music charts and garnering billions of views on YouTube.
Only two boy groups, BTS and SHINee, ranked in the top 100 on Melon's latest weekly chart (April 19-25). Among BTS's songs, 'Dynamite' in 12th, 'Spring Day' in 44th, 'Life Goes On' in 46th, and 'Boy With Luv in 51st. SHINee's 'Don't Call Me' ranked 94th.
HIGH4 - IU song's ‘봄 사랑 벚꽃 말고’ ranked 95th, but it's hard to say that it is a full boy group song. Even with the boy group's new song released this year, only one song from SHINee's 'Don't Call Me' entered the weekly chart rankings.
Some say that the reason for the results is that boy group songs are increasingly considered to be 'their own music consumed by fandom' or 'music that should be enjoyed with performances'. It's said that ordinary/ general listeners are turning a blind eye to boy group music.
One music producer said, "As the competition among boy groups intensified, more teams are focusing their efforts on strengthening fandom cohesion. Since we focus on producing albums tailored to fandom tastes & preferences from the planning stage, there're many songs that are -c
c- too conceptual & difficult to listen to from a non-fan standpoint.”

Industry insiders say that it's desirable to have more boy groups that create hits that are loved not only by fandom but also by general listeners as well as considering the expansion of the chart diversity.
