How to verify your account if it gets locked and your phone number doesn’t work: an educational thread
Method 1: Google Voice (1/2)

The easiest way to unlock your account is to create a google voice account using your cell phone number and email address. This number will work with Twitter.
Google Voice (2/2)

If your google voice number gets blacklisted, then you can purchase a new number for $10. You can also ask your friends to use their number for a google voice account and use that.
Method 2: Talkatone

Another way to verify your locked account is with the app Talkatone, which is available on the app store. You make a free number using your email address. (this app works for some people and doesn’t work for others, so it depends. it worked for me)
Method 3: Vumber

Vumber is another free number app that allows you to make a number using your email/phone number. I have not personally tried this app, but oomf has and it worked for them.
Method 4: Appealing (1/2)

This method won’t unlock your account immediately, and it takes some patience. If your account gets locked and you’ve already tried all the above methods then try appealing it. Go to https://twitter.com/appeal  and paste either one of the following appeals:
Appealing won’t always give you the account back, but it works 75% of the time. Make sure to specify in the appeal that this error occurred in Twitter Wep App, NOT twitter for iphone. To copy and paste the above appeals, use an online Image-To-Text software. (2/2)
Method 5: Other numbers

Another way to unlock your account is to use one of your friend or family members’ phone numbers.
Other info: (1/2)

- Most free number apps (except the ones listed above) will NOT work with Twitter.
- Some of the apps may be unavailable to people outside of the US
- There may be a chance that your original phone number may get unblacklisted from twitter after a certain period of time; mine got unblacklisted and i’m able to use it to verify other accounts. (2/2)
