@jkenney If you knew oilsands are about and what goes on you’d know that these worksites are mostly run by contractors. They (we) don’t get sick pay. They go to work sick because they have bills to pay. I voted @Alberta_UCP last election, I won’t be next if this doesn’t change.
Your government cut a lot of these benefits when you took power — not knowing we would be needing these financial supports during an unprecedented pandemic. These are your constituents you’re failing, and people are dying. People will take their voters elsewhere next election.
Sick pay is needed now. The cost of not protecting workers health and families is going to cost every more in the long run then getting control of the situation now.
