Below I will respond to two of his points, and demonstrate that MW likely fabricated the video he is using to backup this claims.

2. I would like to add that this give me no pleasure to post these rebuttals. However, I think we owe it to the men and women serving in the @USNavy to never assume they are so incompetent as to not be able to identify airliners or stars.

3. Point 1: Its true that FOV on PSV-14 is 40 degrees. I re-measured the FOV in vid (see image below, it appears to be 13-14 degrees), which matches what we would see on a PSV-14 with standard issue 3x Magnifier.

5. Point 5 - Regarding the stabilized video: I took a much closer look at the video that MW posted as 'evidence' of the stars matching perfectly. After reviewing frame-by-frame it became obvious that instead of being stabilized, it was in fact doctored to support MW's theory.

6. Here the issue: MW artificially moved the frames in his video to create the match. The proof is how the pole in the foreground moved relative the meteor shower. Below is where we first see the tip of the pole: 'Rasalhague' = blue, pole tip = green, meteor shower = orange.

7. A tenth of second later, the tip of the pole has moved further away from the meteor shower, because MW needs the frames to move closer to Okab.

8. Three seconds later the pole is in position for the match with Okab, but it has moved 15 degrees from its original location, not what we would see in a stabilized video.

9. Any journalist that quotes Mick West’s work should consider the risk that might have to run a retraction, as it would appear that he has fabricated at least part of his evidence. @MiddleOfMayhem @GadiNBC @nypost

10. Challenging each others ideas in a thoughtful and respectful manner is essential to advancing our understanding of this phenomenon. Lying while denigrating service members should never be tolerated.
