I'm getting tweets/DMs asking my view on specific managers. I don't watch much non-PL football so I'm not the best person to ask about specific names, but I know what I want in terms of the profile of our next manager. Some thoughts >>>
1. Matches with club philosophy/identity. Football played with a swagger, no compromises.
2. Someone who is, first & foremost, a coach. Who will work with our players on the training pitch to try to improve them & who will create a team that's greater than the sum of its parts.
3. Plays progressive football: building from the back (prob in a three, formed however, 3 CBs/DM dropping in, etc); playing through CM; aiming to possess the ball in the opposition third.
4. Some form of press because I don't think you can win anything without effective pressing.
5. Builds a system that allows us to rotate effectively rather than rely on key individuals. Takes a sensible approach to injury management to protect players.
6. Integrates youth in a meaningful way. We have too many talented young'uns for this not to be an essential element.
7. Someone who appreciates us, as a fanbase, and pays respect to our club's heritage and to football fans generally. Who understands the role we play & doesn't take that for granted.
8. Is not a bastard.

Not too much to ask!
