Update on DUP vs Arlene Foster.

My understanding is 80%+ of DUP’s electoral college now signed letter of “no confidence” in Foster & her team. They also want to remove senior advisor Emma Little-Pengelly, party chief exec Timothy Johnston, & director of comms John Robinson.

Crucially this DUP revolt is also going after Nigel Dodds. For context, Dodds is revered as DUP royalty. To openly call for him to go is extraordinary but shows the strength of feeling.

The feeling is Foster has been too soft. She lost Loyalists & middle class Unionists over Brexit protocol & putting faith in Boris Johnson. She lost religious support over abstaining on so-called ‘gay conversion therapy’ and allowing Westminster to legislate for abortion in NI.
