Anyone else getting really tired of how complex software is? Feels like there’s a wall of fragile if-clauses in the way of even the simplest tasks you try to do. And it’s bleeding into real life too: everything is getting more rigid, less humane. Complexity burnout?
I just tried looking something up in a book (an app), but it has forgotten my ”progress”, and won’t let me ”skip ahead”. Have to go through the ”pages” one by one, sitting through the animations and interactions.
I tried adding another tweet to this thread, but clicked the wrong reply button (out of the 3 possible ones), so it ended up as a ”reply” instead of ”another tweet” in this thread, floating separate and out-of-order with the rest.
I tried adding a plain link to a plain HTML page, but there are 5 deployment targets that each need a different link URL. There’s a build system that would know those URLs, but it doesn’t process this file for some reason.
