Bill Gates is lying in this interview.

When AP looked into this claim a few months ago, it quickly found three factories in Bangladesh, South Africa, and Denmark that could rapidly start producing, but they couldn’t get permission. There are surely more.

The narrative Bill Gates is using is an outdated and racist one that assumes you can only trust quality control in factories in the Global North, or the few factories he has personally funded, like in India. It’s just not true.
