Chris Baugh& #39;s latest film is some good fucking fun. "Boys From County Hell" is a solid horror/comedy that belongs right up there with "Shaun of the Dead" and "Tucker & Dale vs. Evil." Fight me. #horrorcomedy #HorrorMovies
Horror comedies require a delicate balance, but Baugh totally nails it with a tale of vampire origins (piss off Bram Stoker!) that weaves itself into the importance of history, home, and ancestry. #boysfromcountyhell
One of the reasons I love foreign horror is that it allows me to see what a culture is afraid of & how they deal with that fear. I& #39;ve noticed a lot of Irish horror is about roots, folklore, ancestry. I& #39;m no expert by any means, but it& #39;s telling that this thread is pretty common.
Baugh& #39;s 1st feature film was "Bad Day for the Cut," a fucking awesome revenge film (Revenge: It& #39;s not just for South Korea) that features a farmer/action hero who can go toe to toe with @mrbobodenkirk & #39;s Hutch Mansell.
Point is, Baugh is experienced at action, and in "Boys From County Hell" he deftly combines that with horror and comedy to give you a (literal) bloody good time. it& #39;s on @Shudder right now. (Bonus: John Lynch!)
