FAME AFTER DEATH? Vedic astrology thread
I wanted to see how people end up almost destitute, living in utter obscurity in their lifetime yet accrue massive fame posthumously- there was a very limited number of people to chose from to do this- but here's what I found
both of these charts show
✨💀Massive amount of talent in chosen profession, but a denial of wealth & status
✨💀’bad timing'- the dashas they experienced didn't give them the opportunity for mass popularity
✨💀Very active dusthana houses & strong 3/9th house axis
HP LOVECRAFT

If you've ever read or seen horror stories that implore elements of dark family secrets, unnamed horrors, or protagonists cast as antiquarians/archeologist into stories that strive to inspire feelings of cosmic indifference then it was most likely inspired by him
HP Lovecraft was born August 20 1890, he never left home before sunset, and spent the years he should have been in school in seclusion due to crippling social anxiety reading a lot of pulp fiction- he lacked friends, goals, and nearly vanished from history
Talent for writing- 3H lord Mars w Ketu; gives natural inclination towards writings (3H) Mars bestows fame in media/communication but it makes one rash/hypersensitive (all in jyestha too)
His amatyakaraka (planet of profession) mercury who sits in the 12H & is his 10H lord creating a predilection towards writing
In his navamsa his Atmakarka Moon sits with rahu in the 3rd house, gives a strong sense of illusion and imagination - definietly creates a writer
Important years: Jupiter Dasha 1912-1922, & Saturn Dasha 1928- death 1937
Jupiter is damaged in the sign of Capricorn, especially being retrograde in his 5th house, & 5H lord in 12th house Saturn created delays in his formal education- His Jupiter here brings a lot of ups in downs in his prosperity in this dasha
Jupiter loses its true sense of belief/spirituality, Rahu in his 9H also creates an outcasts to such matters, in many of his stories expressed his agonistic views,
- Lovecraft's personal philosophy has been termed "cosmic indifference"
In his work ‘At the Mountains of Madness’, its proposed humankind was actually created as a slave race by the Old Ones, and that life on Earth as we know it evolved from scientific experiments abandoned by the Elder Things.
Strong derida yoga- this yoga gives financial loss and hardships, this may not be experienced by everyone who has it- Lovecraft had this involving his 1/10H lord and amatyakarka mercury 12H w/Saturn-
Lovecraft wasn't the greatest businessman his style of writing wasn’t popular at the time but, he never wanted to change it, he began ghost writing out of desperation & often only being able to eat tins of expired foods when he could afford it
So how did he ever get famous?- through the many correspondences with he kept with other writers, especially August Derleth, who was a loyal friend with DEEP pockets-
after Lovecraft's death He opened Arkham Publishing house and made hardbacks of HP's works, though for many years it was not very successful Derlthe kept it afloat until his works eventually found fame in postwar US during a boom in horror films such as 'Rosemary's Baby'
His D1 has Ketu conj 3H Lord mars- 3H is 5th from 11th house of gains (particularly recognition brought about through actions), it also represents companions/friends,
Ketu creates a karmic relation towards one's brothers, if they are born without siblings then in their lifetime they will make friends that will substitute as one
though being damaged in his natal chart- Jupiter in 10H navamsa brings influence later on in life, creating a person into one who inspires others- he encouraged friends to write his own characters/monsters into their own stories creating what is called the " Cthulhu Mythos"
VINCENT VAN GOGH

“Just as we take a train to get to Tarascon or Rouen we take a death to reach a star. We cannot get to a star while we are alive anymore than we can take the train when we are dead. to die quietly of old age would be to go there on foot"
Vincent Van Gogh was born March 30th 1853 in Zundert, Netherlands. Undoubtedly one of the greatest Dutch painters of all time, but of the more than 800 oil paintings and 700 drawings that constituted his life's works, he only sold one in his lifetime
In 1880, at the tail end of his Venus dasha, he decided to become an artist, talent can be seen in his chart, Venus his 5th house lord sits in 10th-5th the house of creation especially of poetry, art and music, Venus important for one's sense of beauty and aesthetics.
10H is traditionally a fame giving house, its how we are seen in society & our profession here Venus sits with 3H lord Sun, the 3rd house represents work done with the hands (his painting) and the house of younger siblings - all of which would be important for his career.
Sun dasha: 1882-1888 (how can a 10th house maha dasha lead to a denial of worldy fame?)
Sun dasha is a DHARMA oriented dasha, it is not concerned with the pursuit of desires, rather with righteous action. It's the sun's heat that brings life into existence, and so this dasha is particularly marked by the need to find's one own purpose in life.
sun was in Revati 10H- being in the sign of Pisces it brings the essence of the 12th house into the 10th, the sun's qualities become otherworldly less concerned monetary gains & notoriety and more so with finding one's self, being connected towards the essence of human kind.
Sun in the revati nakshatra, also tends to makes ones skills and talents go unnoticed unless they make an effort to pass on their knowledge
Sun dasha is also influenced by his Jupiter as that is his 10th house lord, here it sits conjunct Ketu- this creates a strong desire for relgion and for detachment of worldy things- it's a very good combination to understand God, relgion and the essence of Human nature
Jup & Ketu 7H: Came off as an eccentric hippy type to others, that definitely did not help his relationship towards the public when he was alive
The energy of this can be seen when in 1885 he produced his first master piece 'The Potato Eaters' though it was not a popular style at the time, it demonstrated his desire to capture the spirit of the poor
The sun acts as a functional malefic for his Gemini asc- in the time of this dasha- he struggled with his relationship towards his brother (sun 3H lord), and would get into a lot of impassioned debates with other artists for his strong work ethic (sun dasha- gives ambition)
Death- (Moon Dasha) 1888-1890
Van Gogh's atma planet was his Moon in Jyestha 6H- the moon in Scorpio is damaged, and even more afflicted by being in a dusthana house
the 6th house represents chronic illnesses in one's life the moon is also the mind, he suffered from anger turned inward, not to mention possible manic depression and syphilis-
his lifestyle and routine (another 6H theme) didn’t help as he sometimes ate lead paint and was prone to drinking a lot of absinthe
(side note)- He painted his most famous work "The Starry Night Saint Remy" in his moon dasha- after his death it was praised for its embrace of mood, expression, symbol and sentiment- you can even see how the moon dominates the upper right of the piece
The only reason we know of Van Gogh today, is the result of his sister in law Johanna & his brother Theo who supported him financially
- The house that represents the brother's wife in vedic is the 9th house, it's lord is Saturn-Van Gogh's amatyakaraka (this is the planet through which Atmakaraka tries to fulfill it's wish) Moon as atma desires happiness and satisfaction
Saturn 11H (wish fullfillment, and easy money) also rules his 8th house of death and inheritance, after his passing Johanna devoted herself to cataloguing his work collecting his letters, & w her help his work sold enough money to support his family for the rest of their lives
