#Lakers Why Lebron James’ return will be different than Anthony Davis? 1) Lebron’s injury was a joint injury which involves ligaments vs. Anthony Davis’ injury which involves muscle/tendon. Why is this important? For AD it’s important to ramp up load capacity of the muscle.
Therefore, he needed practice time, live scrimmages, and then a minute restriction to test the muscle/tendon. With Lebron’s ankle there is no real concern for further injury. He will lack a little stability but that is typically taken care of by an ankle brace
2) Its a matter of getting the correct range of motion and strength/stability of the ankle vs. letting the muscle heal to prevent further tearing or a rupture of the Achilles. Also, making sure he has full strength in his calf to absorb force of athletic movements.
3)Long term outlook: AD was at risk of tearing his Achilles which would put him out for 9-12 months vs. Lebron returning too early which wouldn’t have major long-term implications besides pain and risk of spraining his ankle again.
However, Lebron will be taking the full 6 weeks which should indicate a return to normal superstar form 👑 #Lakeshow @michaeljduarte @billoram @hmfaigen @KamBrothers @kylegoon @NickHamilton213 @Ralph_MasonJr @ScottKaplan @BillPlaschke @MirjamSwanson @AnthonyIrwinLA @LakersNation
