Not only did they survive the transatlantic slave trade. They then survived Chattel slavery!! Being demeaned, beaten, raped, brutalized, used as props for society that didn’t acknowledge their humanity. Your bloodline made it through that.

I say that to say this, you can make it through anything. You can make it through what you’re going through right now. You can fight that thought to harm yourselves. Your bloodline is here because your family refused to give up. Refused to die. Refused to be broken.
