An annoying thing teachers did during my education was when I asked them to explain a bit more they just said the exact same thing back to me. I needed an analogy. I didn’t know what that word was or that I needed it when a child. Some teachers got it. Most were mean.
I spent 2 days trying to figure out how pointers worked in C++. I’d have explained it like this: Pointers are an address to memory - like a postal one, houses are the data stored there. If you overfill your house it can fill the house next door, if it’s too big you waste space.
This is simplified obviously cause of tweet length but the way I was taught was so foreign to me.
