Sadly, at around the same time of Independence, April 1980, much-trouble was brewing in the Guerilla Assembly Points all over the country, which resulted in armed Zipra & ZANLA clashes. This led to a number of regrettable deaths🇿🇼

1980 July: Rhodesia under Ian Smith, had been run with a State of Emergency declaration in place. 15 long years!

Surely on the back of the sporadic ZIPRA/ZANLA clashes, Mugabe conveniently renews the SoE. And would do so every 6 months up-to 1990🤔🇿🇼

1980 October: Prime Minister Mugabe enters into an agreement with military powerhouse North Korea, for the training and full arming of a whole brigade of the Defence Forces.

We all know what this Brigade would be called soon💣🇿🇼

1980 Nov: There is a serious clash between ZIPRA/ZANLA guerillas, moved from rural Assembly Points to Entumbane just near Bulawayo. Of course, there’s casualties on both sides🇿🇼

1981 Feb: Another huge outbreak of violence at Entumbane between ZIPRA/ZANLA combatants. Spills over into Ntabazinduna and Connemara in è Midlands. This is serious. Over 300 killed🤦🏾‍♀️🇿🇼

1981 Feb: The Justice Dumbutshena Report is commissioned by the GVT to investigate events surrounding the Entumbane uprising. The findings of the closely-guarded Report CLASSIFIED. 40 years on, the Report has never been made public🇿🇼
