Attractive Streamers actually DO steal viewers.
And that’s okay.

I’ve been trying to think of a way to say this that wasn’t purposefully edgy because I think there is value in the conversation for the people who are frustrated over it. And it requires maturity 1/9

To get it out of the way the “you don’t own viewers” response isn’t always the answer. Because the word “steal” in this context seems to be used as short hand for “if they didn’t stop there they might find me”. Acknowledging that lets us touch the real topic: 2/9

Attractive people in general get things easier. It’s actually a reality we just sort of know but pretend doesn’t apply to Streaming. But it does. And THAT is the conversation that people never engage in but what these “steal my views” folks actually mean and fail to express. 3/9
I used to run a cell phone store. If I had two equally qualified people and one was more attractive I knew which one would sell more phones. It’s an unfair reality. Attractive people have an easier time getting people to enjoy them.
BUT that doesn’t mean only attractive 4/9

people can succeed. It means others need to earn success more. It means they need to have a better resume. A better interview. A better plan. It’s not fair at all. An attractive person can be boring and people still want to look at them. It’s built into us on a genetic level. 5/9
And because of that it doesn’t just apply to attractive people but also enticing behavior and visuals. People get excited to see skin, so the current meta grabs Twitch’s main demographic by their very genetics and pulls them in. It’s exactly like real life SO it should be 6/9
handled the exact same way. In real life if you just complain about how others have an easier time, you don’t get anything for it but a bitter heart. Acknowledge the challenge and then figure it out. You don’t get easy success and it’s not fair. It means you have to work hard 7/9
and that’s okay. If a person feels the need to complain about that they are definitely not the type of person who would succeed if those viewers found them. If you’re average to ugly you’re gonna just have to work harder/smarter. It’s reality.
