Scared for the Bengals and why thread:
1). Public perception. Bengals have done a great job over the last few years in fan engagement. But at the end of the day, it comes down to winning on Sunday. Bengal fans have short term memory. We’re fine in the off-season (for the most part) and believe everything is going well
Or we like to tell ourselves that. If you look at the Bengals needs, in no specific order, the top 3 is offensive line, linebackers, and corners. No where near the top of this list is a WR a need. Not even close.
If the Bengals draft Chase, they will once again look incompetent to main stream media by ignoring a very important need. “But it’s just critics”. Yes, and other NFL players listen to these sources. Making bad decisions doesn’t help you land free agent.
2). Zac Taylor. Probably one if not the worst HC in the NFL as of right now. With a record of 6-25-1, he has shown very little promise of being even an average HC. If it wasn’t for Joe Burrow, Taylor would be on the hottest seat in the NFL.
To add to that, he seems to not have the best relationship with players and tends to get rid of players that hold him accountable. Players like Carlos Dunlap, John Ross, Giovani Bernard, Aj Green, Billy Price, Etc;
All players that were and or were going to be staples of the franchise gone or mishandled as soon as Taylor stepped in the room. From limiting Atkins snap count, to not handling Dunlaps criticism, to even benching Andy Dalton on his birthday, shows he doesn’t have leadership.
