Older, especially poorer, people born in rural areas simply have no official record of their birth. They can't get a Real ID, a passport and many of them now cannot vote due to Voter ID laws. It's a fucking disgrace any of this bullshit is defended by anybody.

If YOU think the document requirements for a Real ID are easy, good for you.

Fact of the matter these requirements are difficult if not impossible for many millions of your fellow Americans who come from less-privileged backgrounds as you.

It's just fucking aggravating that people who have for their entire lives had basic bureaucratic requirements easily met (at most, they have to stand in a line for a few hours) think those requirements must therefor be easy for everybody else to meet.

I personally have no idea since I'm privileged enough to not have to worry about it. I can't imagine it's easy, though.

I was born in a major hospital in Los Angeles. My birth certificate and SSN were processed and delivered within a few weeks. My parents a few years later used these documents to get me a passport... and that was that: I've never had to worry about it since.
