Artists... you haven’t raised your prices yet? Let me tell you why you should.

Would you work at a job for a year or more that wouldn’t give you a raise? Don’t do it to yourself.

Have you become more skilled than you were a year ago? 6 mo ago? You should be paid for that. (1/6)
As you’ve grown have you begun to buy higher quality materials? If you have, then your prices need to go up.

Have you spent dozens, if not hundreds, of hours researching suppliers/materials/designs/your craft in general? Get paid for it. You didn’t do that for free (2/6)
Have your designs or products become more unique and original? You should be paid for that creativity.

Have you purchased more biz cards, ty cards, freebies, special packaging, etc, to make receiving an order from your brand an experience? Exactly. Pay yourself more. (3/6)
What about marketing - have you spent more time online curating content that attracts your audience? Get paid for that time.

Did you spend money on props and tech for your product pics? That needs to be calculated in bb. (4/6)
Don’t tell me “if I price higher my work won’t sell”. Bb, it might sell slower, but that’s ok. We do this bc we love this, but we don’t do it for free. What’s the point of making sales if it’s only bc you’re underpricing your work? That sale is useless if you don’t profit. (5/6)
Why would you spend $30 on materials and 5 hours on something only to sell it for $50? Yeah, someone may buy it, but you aren’t actually profiting. Don’t do that to yourself. Let it sit in your shop for $100. The right buyer will come. You got this. (6/6)
