Rough idea for my Tau lore. The Shas’Rah Dominion.

A Tau expansionary fleet investigate and enter a webway gate. They emerge in the Mercian Gulf and are immediately attacked by Orks. The gate is destroyed. They are trapped, far from the Empire. #WarhammerCommunity
Worse still, all of their Ethereals are killed. The Tau survivors settle the first habitable planet they find, for the greater good of course. Yet, without the Ethereals to guide them and in an extremely hostile region, the Tau become increasingly militaristic and aggressive.
They expand their territory, but rather than offering alliance and partnership within the tenets of the greater good, they offer only their dominance. The old ways were too weak, too slow. Instead, all aliens will be made to choose. Serve the Shas’Rah Dominion, or die.
They war against Orks, Chaos, Necrons & more. In time their expansion reaches the edge of the Mercian Gulf (a region that the Astronomican does not breach). They encounter the Imperium for the first time. It is not a friendly meeting.

And that’s where they enter my campaign.
