I don't know much about TF2, however the idea that trans men didn't exist/surgery for trans men didn't exist in the 70s is false. Transgender treatments have been given far before 70s. https://twitter.com/HoatesFroel/status/1386823322806063111

If you want a specific example, Harry Benjamin's book "The Transsexual Phenomenon" (Published in 1966), while being horribly out of date with our understandings of trans people today, includes details about surgeries done on trans men, including top surgeries.

As example of someone who transitioned before the 70s, Reed Erickson transitioned and formed an organization, the Erickson Educational Foundation, that funded queer movements starting in the 60s.

From this we can conclude there is no reason why Engineer from TF2 couldn't be transgender.

Anyway sorry for this thread, just didn't like seeing misinformation being spread.
