I think about this all the time. I’m almost positive I would have been killed if I were not in Canada. I know girls have been ‘honor killed’ in the West too. But being here meant I at least had a chance. What chance do women in Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan etc have?

I started #FreeHeartsFreeMinds to support ppl like Hadeel who are stuck living in Muslim majority countries w no escape- and to placate my raging survivor’s guilt. I wish I could do more, of course. But at least it’s something. I have to do something
