So the Manitoba government has quietly cut hundreds of pages out of its annual estimates books... on paper, this sounds like wonky stuff that only a minority of people care about. These books are a window into how the government actually plans to spend their money this year -- think of the budget as the window dressing, while the estimates books are where you get to see a line-by-line breakdown of how and where the government is spending its money #mbpoli
The best part is that they actually have to explain why there is a variation from the spending last year... so suddenly when you see spending in an area of justice is down -- there is a little * that explains why they are spending less. It is a treasure trove of stories. #mbpoli
