“[Israeli] authorities have dispossessed, confined, forcibly separated, and subjugated Palestinians by virtue of their identity to varying degrees of intensity. These deprivations are so severe that they amount to the crimes against humanity of apartheid and persecution."

“Every day a person is born in Gaza into an open-air prison, in the West Bank without civil rights, in Israel with an inferior status by law, and in neighboring countries effectively condemned to lifelong refugee status...solely because they are Palestinian and not Jewish.”

“Human Rights Watch concludes that the Israeli government has demonstrated an intent to maintain the domination of Jewish Israelis over Palestinians across Israel and the OPT."

So what is to be done? HRW wants other countries to condition funding of Israel’s army on Israel taking steps to end apartheid, and to impose travel bans and asset freezes on Israeli officials who maintain apartheid.
