Dear Podcast consumers (a thread)

Majority of us podcasters not only spend hours of our lives producing these shows, but most of us pay to make them. While some turned podcasting to a career, many won’t see a dime from it.
Is it annoying getting spammed by shows when you ask for recommendations? Yes. Cause us shows gets bombarded by notifications too. We don’t have a marketing team, this is for the most part the best thing we can do to get noticed.
If you’re gonna start listening to a new show, start from the latest if you can. Our first couple are super rocky (that’s being nice). Appreciate our growth if you can, cause a lot of us are really hard on themselves hearing those early products.
There’s many ways you can support our shows without breaking a sweat. Reviews are great, telling a friend even better. A lot of us love feedback as long as it’s constructive and not because YOU don’t like it a certain way.
And if you’re going to that route, message us directly. No need to air it out publicly. Cause guess what, we are also our own customer service hotline! We don’t have a PR team that handles that for us when everyone’s jumping on our backs.
Lastly, many of us started this as a hobby. Be patient with us, grow with us, engage, and most importantly, be kind. We come in with a goal to entertain you. Enjoy, happy listening, and thank you for coming to our TED Talk.
Damn, I just said how I felt and people seem to respond to it. Uhhhh... I got nothing to plug. Listen to our show (I guess?), support indie podcasts, local artists, small businesses, etc.

Stop Asian Hate, Black Lives Matter, support LGBTQ+ rights, and be good to each other!
