Right now every k-12 educator I know—including the one I live with—is somewhere on a spectrum from exquisitely exhausted to dangerously unwell (anxiety, insomnia, depression, disordered eating, drug & alcohol abuse, etc.)
Here are a few things those of us not in the classroom right now might do to offer support:

1. Drop off a meal.
2.Invite them out for walk somewhere beautiful
http://3.Do  NOT offer advice or a pep talk unless requested
4. Work your revolutionary ass off to transform every last inch of this godforsaken country so that it is worthy of these dear people who work so hard to love our kids into their full humanity & brilliance.
5. Offer to do a couple of hours of chores (laundry, shopping, floor washing, appointment-making, etc.). When they say, “No. Thanks for the offer though,” try one more time, “I would really love to do this for you, to offer you a tangible form of my support.”
Teachers! In the comments, tell us which of the above sounds helpful & what else you’d find useful in the way of support from your admirers & stans.
