My uncle, who needs dialysis thrice a week, was denied the procedure after the hospital insisted he get a #Covid negative report, said my aunt.
My uncle got a test done a few days ago, the result hasn& #39;t come yet, dialysis didn& #39;t happen, and now he& #39;s DEAD. He& #39;s no more. Gone.
His son, my cousin, is in the ICU, getting treated for #Covid, unaware that his father is no more. My bua, her daughter & son-in-law are managing things. None of us can visit. We& #39;ve lost count of the no. of the number of people we& #39;ve list to #Covid since 2020.
This delay in getting the #Covid test result cost him his life. He was old, he was sick but he died because he couldn& #39;t get dialysis. I am so angry. My family is devastated. This is the 10th relative we& #39;ve lost.
Yesterday, my dad lost his college lecturer, and two college seniors -- all to #Covid. Today, my friend lost her naani to #Covid, while her mum is in the ICU in a critical state. We are beyond grief-stricken now. We are devastated.
People are NOT figures. Don& #39;t let this heartless govt, & its cheerleaders ever tell you that things are okay. Entire families are left broken, we grieve in little corners of our homes, alone. Mom & I have #Covid, & we couldn& #39;t even hug Papa as he wept silently for uncle.
I& #39;m only just reading all the messages. I angrily typed it out, and muted the thread. Thank you all for your kindness. My cousin is back home from the hospital, thankfully. It& #39;s only when he returned home that he found out about his father& #39;s passing away.
