The most important thing to understand about Tucker Carlson is that his own mother didn't love him and rejected him and his family when he was a small child https://twitter.com/justinbaragona/status/1386837979453399049
This is a basic boilerplate fact about his life story. His mother ditched him because she wanted to do other things than being his mother.
In fact, his father, Dick Carlson, was also abandoned by his parents as a baby. Two generations of men haunted by the specter of being unwanted.
And then later in his childhood, Tucker Carlson became incredibly rich because his father married a frozen-foods heiress—that is, Carlson's fortune is a direct result of his own mother leaving him behind
When you hear Tucker Carlson warn about "replacement" or dismiss someone's credentials as "unimpressive," you're hearing someone whose entire sense of self is twisted around the idea of displacement, rejection, and undeserved rewards
His whole career is essentially a reenactment of the original wounding drama, failing upward from being a conservative writer with a respectable readership to become a wildly well-paid TV propagandist braying dumb lies at an audience of losers idiotic enough to eat it up
The more contemptible he becomes, the richer and more famous he ends up being
