Elijah Moore, WR out of Ole Miss. A massive riser this offseason as everyone has gotten a chance to dig deeper into his background.

Ole Miss has become a WR factory recently with DK Metcalf, AJ Brown and now Elijah Moore.

Let’s look at the tape ⬇️

@MyFantasyLeague
Elijah Moore was buried on a depth chart his freshman year behind current NFL standouts DK Metcalf and AJ Brown. Regardless he still garnered almost 400 yards and 2 TDs. After that, he’s been the leading receiver by a large margin for Ole Miss the rest of his collegiate career.
He profiles very well both on film and analytically. He posted a college DOM of 45.5%, 35.2% target share, 19.4 BOA, but a below average YPR (played a lot of slot snaps close to the LOS). He showed a very good 40 time 4.40 (adjusted) and a 98th percentile Agility score.
Outside of that, he had an average Burst score and only a 35th percentile Speed Score (all per playerprofiler)

Here are the pros from the tape:

- Route Running w/top tier separation
- Great Hands
- Really solid speed
- YAC-ability
- Ability to play vertical
- Lineup versatility
HANDS

Moore shows some of the best hands I’ve seen yet from this class attacking the ball and catches w/his hands. He’ll haul in the pass while taking a hit (clip 2&4) or high point the ball like in clip 3. He shows the ability to extend his catch radius like in clips 5&6
ROUTE RUNNING

Elijah Moore is known for his route running whether thats from game film or from the offseason workout videos. He shows really polished breaks in his routes that look so smooth and consistent. He gains that inside leverage and quickly separates in the clips 2&3.
ROUTE RUNNING (con’t)

He has plenty of tools that he consistently shows to create separation. He has a deadly double move that has to be respected (clips 1,3,5). He has instant start stop ability (clip 4). And then his release is top tier with super fluid hips and quickness (2).
SPEED

Moore posted a really good pro-day 40 time and it translates. He has that 2nd gear to break away. I love his ability to manipulate the def in open space(1). He can get behind defenses (2). Then his acc/speed combo proves deadly in clips 3&4 breaking the def down and get by
YAC

Elijah Moore is a threat in the open field. He demonstrates really good acceleration to take off for big gains from short throws (clip 1 + the 1 hand snag). Additionally, he quickly gets up field (3&4). In those clips I love how low he gets his hips for quick turnarounds.
BLOCKING

This is definitely not Moore’s strong suit. He doesn’t take plays off as he generally doesn’t block and runs a decoy route. But when he does block, he more just gets in the way without getting hands on the defender. Positioning could be better (blindside flag in clip 2)
Again, not every prospect is perfect. Here are the cons I saw from the tape:

- Easily tackled after the catch. Occasionally breaks tackles, but more often than not, if hands get on him he’s going down.

- Occasional body catches/alligator arms. Not often, and a bit nit picky one
- Very few contested catch wins. Luckily his separation doesn’t put him in many contested catch wins, but not every throw is perfect and he’ll have to win some of those at the next level

- Blocking. Again, he just kind of gets in the way. Not great technique or positioning
Overall, I came away very impressed from Elijah Moore. The offseason hype seems to be warranted. It’s telling that he was able to produce solid numbers as a true freshman behind DK and AJB. He possesses a ton of potential at the next level with a fairly high floor, which is a …
… great kind of player to target. He should impact his NFL team immediately with his lineup versatility and ability to impact special teams. While I believe he will mostly lineup in the slot, I would not be surprised to see him have some success on the outside. He’ll most likely
.. slot into a team’s 2nd or 3rd receiving option his rookie campaign, but I could see him… evolving into a top end receiving threat and focal point of his future NFL team’s offense. His upside is the top tier of this WR class and I see his skillset translating well to the NFL.
Here are my running rookie WR rankings:

1. Ja’Marr Chase
2. Devonta Smith

3. Jaylen Waddle
4. Rashod Bateman
5. Elijah Moore
5. Tylan Wallace

6. Amon-Ra St. Brown
7. Terrace Marshall

8. Kadarius Toney
