IMAGINE claiming to be a twenty first century feminist and then writing an op-ed with a standfirst that says "the basic biological distinction between a woman and a man" is "too important to our conceptual ordering of the world" to be ditched @tortoise

I mean even before you get into the way that this argument is used to denigate trans people, it's just such a Victorian feminist conception of the world! Men are MEN and women are WOMEN and all we can do is ask for little concessions around the edges of those immutable truths.

(lol I did not mean to tag the place of publication into the tweet, and I wouldn't recommend the article, which is the usual nonsense. But the idea that these arguments come from a radical feminist space is so laughable. Radical feminism was intellectually so far beyond this.)
