When somebody with these views is platformed:

Perhaps the platform didn& #39;t know & needed educating. Some wonderful people felt able to do that. Lucky us, for having them!

This group finds the platform response is not satisfactory. Worse, it& #39;s seen as damaging for those affected. https://twitter.com/jsmilges/status/1386844951418347522">https://twitter.com/jsmilges/...
The group rightly demands more. They need to be shown understanding, growth, change. However, they are ignored.

(I don& #39;t need to repeat what could have been done by the platform, because the people campaigning, despite their pain and trauma, did this. It& #39;s there. *Talk to them*)
Moving on. A political party leader appears to be praising the editor of said platform. The group affected rightly informs the leader of the above issues. That they platformed someone who is very bad for marginalised groups, then didn& #39;t respond adequately, then ignored them.
Is it a surprise this group is angry at this point, btw?

The leader ignores them and *blocks* them, which they feel silenced by.

The reason behind the blocking are irrelevant to the group, because they a) haven& #39;t been communicated with b) are hurt, traumatised c) require action
No word from the leader or *party*, despite being asked to respond. On an area where a group of marginalised people have been hurt, traumatised.

Things start to understandably spiral. Assumptions are understandably made. This required thoughtful action but didn& #39;t get anything.
Within the party, several disabled people raise this situation as a concern. They feel attacked by multiple members for some time, and then by the leader. There is more to this.

The vulnerable group that raised it become scared, hurt, confused. At the least, they feel ignored.
All this group within the party wanted was for the party to address the original situation; perhaps *talk to those involved*, investigate, discuss, figure out the right thing to do. Instead, they felt turned on, demonised, and confused.

They just wanted to help.
An ex-member coincidentally sends out a long thread with some very worrying concerns about the party. Immediate sensitive and gentle investigation is required. This doesn& #39;t seem to happen.

Instead, the party coincidentally sends a tweet out that threatens legal action against
false and defamatory statements. The same tweet also claims to support & stand with disabled members, though the group of members relevant in this thread are in crisis mode due to the party& #39;s actions/lack of actions.

Understandably, some party members, the ex-member, and those
who campaigned for change, start to become extremely distressed by this tweet. Even non-affected party members are distressed by it, many of them. Nothing happens.

Nothing happens.

Nothing happens.

Things are spiraling. More pile ons, more trauma, more hurt.
There is a lot more to this, but it& #39;s exhausting, and this is all I can handle atm. I will do separate threads at some point, covering other areas within this.

People have been seriously harmed by all this, & it could have been avoided if marginalised people were *listened to*
