The past few months have been terribly toxic in the Welsh independence movement. The divisiveness, the bullying, the intimidation, the threats have been sickening and made me question whether we are really ready for independence given the behaviours exhibited.

What the recent spats have exposed are factions within Wales have prioritised one argument over another, when indeed, all arguments are equally valid. I am also concerned that the balance of these issues have been skewed because of a vocal group of people who shut down...

discourse and dialogue about these issues. My other concern is that some of these people will have a louder voice if they are elected as Yes Cymru committee members.

Now I believe that an equal and fair Wales will leave no room for people who are not willing to engage with democracy or honest and open dialogue. We must ensure that the people elected to any form of office must have the best interests of Wales at heart and to follow...

through with their promises to build the new nation. If we do not do this, frankly we can never get full support of the Welsh people.
So, it’s balance. The balance must be right.

We need strong leadership who will deliver on promises made to all Welsh people not just the loudest ones. We also need to ensure that minorities are protected and ensure that everyone has a voice. This can only be done by clear “broad church” policies and laws.
