Wafik Doss kicks us off with 'Trail of a Syllable: The Advance of Politics through Literary Expressions: Revolutions and the Word'. Wafik is a final year PhD researcher studying the effects and connections between Literature and Political upheavals. #SLLCrossingBoundaries

Originally from Egypt, Wafik set out ten years ago to the UK to study English Literature and Creative writing with a background in poetry, Egyptian balladry and a Masters in Theatre text and performance. #SLLCrossingBoundaries

This paper gives an insight into both the creative and critical parts of Wafik’s project, and is centred on the recent Egyptian January 25th Revolution, and the literature, films, and music industry that has risen in the past 9 years since. #SLLCrossingBoundaries
