If Bayern couldn't get him out of his contract, he would've waited until they could- the only other clubs he would have gone to were bigger, Champions League quality (no, not Tottenham) in other leagues and not (if any) many would have taken the risk.
And before Bayern prats are like “WHY HAVE YOU MENTIONED 1860 MUNICH” - it’s because it means he grew up in Munich for my non-German football followers. Please I’m an expert in German football and know more than you in so many ways.
