Counterattack. How Bo Yuan rose from rank 46 > rank 7, attracting new fans throughout CHUANG.

[A Rough Start]

15 February 2021 - Our "fan club" organized a battle with some of the other contestants (Zhang Xinyao, Yi Han and Gan Wangxing). The results were disappointing. We only raised 7,689rmb with 61 participants. It doesn't look good.

The "Fan Club" then was not the current fan club. We had to have a reshuffling. It was basically, not our official fan club yet but a group of fans organizing this. (unlike the others who already have an established fan club)

[A Place Where Love Begin]

February 20th 2021 - Bo Yuan performed Blizzard as his solo performance. His strong singing and dancing ability earned him the MVP of his team at that time. The cover was released by 音乐车祸现场 on Weibo and got over 5,000 reposts.

This was the start of when he started attracting new fans. Fans who were never interested in domestic entertainment (Chinese entertainment) or idol shows.

[46th. It's a shame. He's very talented but doesn't attract fans.]

21st February 2021 - In the official Douban group, there was no such person named Bo Yuan in CHUANG2021.

Only after the first rankings did some Bo Yuan fans start to post. There was only about 30 of us.

A fan made a post on the Douban group on his rank. Passerby fans started commenting "He sings and dances so steadily. It's a shame he's only 46", "Talent is not something that attract fans.", "It's such a shame".

[I Don't Know What Everyone Likes, Let's Just Give it Our All]

Some thirsty fans on Douban bumped into the show. Most didn't care what the produce shows were all about. There wasn't many fans so they just did whatever they wanted to make them happy.

They started doing things that were WAY out of convention for normal idol fans (from produce shows). They didn't know if what they were doing was a good thing or a bad thing.

Bo Yuan has been training for 6 years, there's so much content out there.

They started digging through the net to find posts and videos he has uploaded. They found so much of his content they made a whole page - him singing live, his personality, his dreams, his interactions with fans and strangers. He's completely clean.

With more content, they can now make more memes.

Passerby fans started commenting that "Bo Yuan can't be an idol, he has no sexual tension." Fans were shocked by this and upset by this statement. They took matters to their own hand and started posting more content on the "midnight field"

This was on 28th February. A fan that posted fanfics was shocked by the number of people that dropped by Bo Yuan's db page to read the fanfics. Some of the contents for his page was so detailed and explicit that many posts got reported and the post had to be made private.

At that time, there wasn't many fans. If you were in Bo Yuan's page you can remember the ids of the users because there were so few of us. No one had a direction or a goal - they were just doing whatever made them happy.

[His Skills Have Been Seen]

27th February 2021 - His Blizzard performance was ignored by many reaction bloggers. During the battle, Bo Yuan was caught off guard by one of the most popular contestant and chosen for a battle.

His performance (Butterfly) was more memorable than the first. Fans started saying "As long as there is a stage, you can trust Bo Yuan". He chose a song that he has been practicing since 2015.

Later on, at the song selections he said this one phrase "I'll teach you the song, word by word." when trying to recruit a trainee into his first performance song. People started seeing him as a gentle and patient person.

[Losing the First Battle]

2nd March 2021 - The first setback. The top 20 most active Weibo Supertopics at that time had the opportunity to shoot for magazines. Fans tried their best but at that time, there were just too few of them. No matter how hard they tried, it was futile.

That night, we had another battle with another trainee.
We've raised more than 10 times of what we raised in our previous battle. Throughout the battle, it seemed like we were going to loose, even until the very last hour. Until the very last minute.

Just when the battle was coming to an end and when we all thought we were going to loose yet another battle, many people suddenly joined and we won at the very last minute. You can say that this brought comfort to fans after loosing the supertopic battle in the morning.

[The First Vlog I Got Was Through My Own Talents]

3rd March 2021 - Bo Yuan entered Class A by being recognized by colleagues at the start of of the show. All class A students had the chance to shoot a vlog.

For his vlog, he cooked Guiyang egg fried rice. He conducted a spice tolerance test for traines in different regions. You start seeing his personal traits - his gentleness, stability and warm-heartedness. People were moved by him again and he attracted a new batch of fans.

[His First Public Performance]

3rd March 2021 - Butterfly was officially aired. His stage was good and he attracted even more new fans. His fans were not regarded as fans that would normally chase idols from these type of shows.

The fans he attracted had different hobbies but were infatuated by him. People started calling him "wife" & delved into his midnight field. People started making videos on him (attached). The fans he attracted was not conventional.

[Formation of the Official Fan Club]

8th March 2021 - Until now, Bo Yuan had no official fan club. We no guide, we can't do anything united. We had no direction. The fan club underwent a reshuffling and was officially formed on 8th March. We now have someone to guide us.

[The First Power Generation List - It was Bloody!]

10th March 2021 - Bo Yuan dropped to B Class after the first public performance. Power Generation List was up and the top 3 B Class students will get the opportunity to film a vlog.
