If you're scolding folks who travelled to India and are now stranded, you know that they had to get permission from DFAT to do that, right? And there's a pretty strict list of reasons that would be accepted by DFAT? No "tourism" isn't one of them.

So many folks who think Australians were able to fly to India for tourism and therefore it's ok to leave them there. A) Incorrect, that's not a reason you'd be allowed to leave B) Stop making up bullshit excuses for your lack of empathy.
