The problem with Morrison’s religiosity is not that he thinks god is ‘on his side’, it’s that his devotional, fundamentalist take means he can’t breach his own beliefs &thus makes decisions based on doctrine.

His religion believes this is righteous &applaudable.
He believes forcing *his religion into Parliament is what he was *called to do, &he will do so, unrelentingly, unquestioningly, at any cost, bcs god says weathering criticism is a sign of devotion, &test of deservedness.

This type of religion is historically ‘unAustralian’. Even amongst the religious, fundamentalism has always been viewed askance; as untrustworthy, hence the efforts to be a blokey bloke & daggy dad - it’s a smokescreen for religious fanaticism, bcs Aussies don’t trust fanaticism.

Every decision he makes is shrouded in fanaticism.
His decision not to act properly (in law) for Brittany Higgins (bcs in his religion, she is the bad person); his protection of male rapists (bcs male. White. Religion); refusal to take responsibility (bcs that’s god’s job).

Destruction of the poor (bcs they’re being punished by god, so he won’t get in god’s way); punishment of the wicked (ie, all who are not his flavour of Pentecostal); funnelling money to friends; all these things: god gave him his position to further enforce god’s righteous plan.

Australia’s assets are god’s gift for the plunder. He is god’s right hand in achieving this for the deserving (billionaires). He’s not bothered by Aus law or courts or, frankly, integrity, bcs he operates under a higher law. Being PM is proof to him that god is good with this.

*This* is why he needs to be removed.
Not because he believes in a god &attends a church upon which the nation’s laws are based anyway (history: law, monarch, Britain), but bcs we cannot have a sitting PM who is not morally & ethically answerable to the laws of the nation.
