I was gonna qrt OP but I decided to make my own tweet wrt asking an artist to draw [a meme] in [your faves] bc OP isn't my moot. Anyway
Let me just preface that I've probably been guilty of it (i.e. "someone draw this but with [my fave]") but now I know better and now I realize, especially as an artist, seeing people carelessly post prompts hoping an artist would pick them up is mildly annoying
Prompts are fun bcs we all relate to them and we like to see our faves in those contexts. However, if an artist/any type of creator pick one up and create something that caters to your wish at that moment, I think the least you could do is send them a ko-fi/the likes
Omg I meant "draw [your fave] in [a meme/situation]" SORRY I'M EATING LUNCH AT WORK but I hope I still get my point across o<-<
I have one more thing to say but. Let me finish my meal before I make further mistakes lmfaooo

Idk if other creators share the same sentiment, but I believe that putting out a prompt into the wild hoping someone would pick it up is one of the reasons art becomes "disposable" today. That prompt will be the trend for a while, but there will be a new prompt tomorrow
And the cycle just continues. Creators need down time after putting out a piece, but this phenomenon doesn't allow creators to step back and look at their own piece and revel at the details bc there's a pressure to fulfill certain demands
Of course creators have no obligation to meet those demands, we can ignore it all we want, but peer pressure is a thing. We hear from time to time that creators need to take a step back bc they realize they're chasing after "likes" instead of making what they like
Let me close by saying: I enjoy prompts/memes. They're funny, they evoke new hcs/art, they get discussions going; but maybe let's be mindful and considerate of what we say to people who put out other free content for everyone. I certainly had to unlearn some things, and still do
