How to maintain your nails with an ED ~a thread
Note: I don't condone EDs but if you already have one, it gets really hard to maintain your appearance sometimes and, I have some tips so why not share them
I've had long nails for years now so I kinda am comfortable w my tips but if they don't work for you I'm sorry.
I'll start list from the most important to least
1) ALWAYS wear nailpolish! It's so important. It might stain your nails but it doesn't mean them getting unhealthy, it's just the dye stain.+
It gives the nail extra thickness while still being flexible and protects it from soaking water. If your hands sweat a lot, it also gives SOME protection from it. Also a really good solution for peeling and splitting
2) Kind of the same thing but never put your nails in water without nail polish on them. When your nails soak the water it will lose the curve they have so they will be prone to bending.?
3) Don't cut your nails w a nail clipper, always file them bc if you cut them, your nails will be likely to split and/or peel bc of the pressure of the clipper.
4) Take vitamins. Vitamins are so so important for nail growth/health and that's probably why you have white lines on yours:) TAKE. YOUR. VITAMINS.
5) Drink water, duh. At this point we all know we have to do it right? Let's skip the reason for this one bc you ALWAYS have to drink water
6) Apply oils to your nails. Jojoba oil is a really good one. No matter how hard you try, your nails will bend eventually and, to have less damage your nails should be flexible AF. Moisturize those cuties.
7) DON'T. BITE. YOUR. NAILS. This should be on top but I think it's a pretty obvious one so... Don't even put your nails in your mouth at all. Don't play with them, don't bite them, don't put them in your mouth. Remember pressure and wetness is the worst enemy for them
8) Don't use nail hardners. Like I said before, flexibility is key. Those gardeners are not flexible and, your nails will likely break if you bend it. Regular nail polish will do the job and, it will do it better than those
9) If you are too lazy to change your polish and wait for them to dry, you can use quick dry top coats which will give your nail more thickness while drying the polish faster or, use spray on nail polish dryers
10) If your don't like to wear colourful polish or don't want to have stains, you can always use a clear one(it will also dry faster)
11) Should have added this before but don't buff your nails at all. It doesn't benefit them at all and, it's also thinning them and making them prone to peeling so, never EVER buff your nails

That's all I could think of right now but I hope my tips helped at least some of you. Rts are appreciated♡
