leigh wrote shadow and bone while she was in/had just left an abusive relationship. her saying she’d never make darklina canon because it’s abusive is not hate against fans likes. it’s a fact. she’s also allowed to make choices for her own characters... they’re hers.

the wonderful thing about reading is that you can have your own opinions or interpretations. but the author still has control over characters. interpret what you want, the ship IS canonically abusive. dont hop into my mentions or subtweet me over this when i’m stating facts. ty
