my contribution to gifted kid discourse is that I deeply needed a psychologist and they gave me brain puzzles instead

hot take: don’t segregate children by how smart adults think they are that’s some eugenics shit

I was not gifted I was a trainwreck of a child who was lonely and hoarding me away from the rest of my peers kept me that way

Anyway, abolish the gifted program

last thing I’ll say is that the defining feature of my childhood was loneliness and I think that we should encourage and love all children for who they are rather than sorting them out based on what are often cruel biases children have no way of understanding.
