Sorry for the delay, but we're back baby, insurgent text analysis

This week: 150 questions to a Guerrilla by Alberto Bayo Giroud! /1
First some background on the author.

Alberto Bayo Giroud was born in Camagüey, Cuba in 1892. He studied in spain and took part in the Spanish civil war in various commissioned officer position. His greatest impact is his work as an advisor for Che and Castro. /2
This role lead this his position as a general of the cuban armed forces.

He died in 1967

His work is linked heavily with Che's, here's a photo of him /3
To start, let's look at his idea of what conditions are needed for Guerrilla war and who should participate.

Bayo believed that a government must be clearly "the enemy of the people" and that only strong willed youth could achieve victory /4
Here we can see how Bayo believes how Guerrilla orgs should be structured, which highly centeralized, highly specilized sections focused on specific tasks to achieve goals as best as possible /5
Here's Bayo's view on when, where, and how Guerrillas could attack, harass, and battle the state. Reminds me a lot of both Mao and Sun Tzu in a way. /6
I forgot why I took this screenshot, ignore it. Nothing useful here /7
Here's Bayo's view on what a Guerrilla must know and be able to do to be the perfect Guerrilla. He mentions that a Guerrilla does not need to know all of these things at a start. There's a rural bent to it, but still a good list for even normal life /8
Bayo here describes much of what Guerrilla tactics are, not designed to kill, but terrify an occupying force, and how to do that /9
This reminds me of the OSS manual a lot, of individual, minor, easy to commit disruption. /10
My analysis: Bayo's work has an extreme rural and jungle tilt to it. He goes on and on about stuff like how to land a plan in jungles and how to scale maps. His work is also distinctly pre security state, with much of his structures being very weak to modern... /11
Surveillance and inflitration tactics.

Despite this, I would still recommend reading it, if only to green some historical knowledge of the cuban revolution and Che's ideas on Guerrilla warfare /12
