Bible study discussion thread: covers Leviticus 25:1-7, the seventh year rest, also called the sabbath year and shmita, in view of a) farming and gardening standpoint, and b) shadow and prophetic standpoint
The sabbath year rest for the land is a mandate set by our Father in Heaven the Almighty as written in the Torah in Leviticus 25:1-7, and then Judean Pharisees and Jewish Rabbis added all sorts of oral law rules and exceptions, so we are going to use only Leviticus for guidance
The first part of this thread is going to review specifically what the sabbath year of rest for the land physically means, which is especially important to anyone growing their own fruits and vegetables at home, because September 2021 through September 2022 is the sabbath year
If you use the Hillel II Hebrew calendar based on mathematical equations after the fall of Jerusalem, the sabbath year is September 7 2021 - September 25 2022, if you sight the moon like Israel, Judah, and the Early Church did, which is what I do, sabbath is 9-8-2021 to 9-26-2022
This thread will use the Hebrew to English Interlinear Bible text for Leviticus 25:1-7 so you can confirm the Hebrew words, as well as KJV at times to display Strong Biblical Dictionary numbers, and both Strongs and Brown Driver Briggs dictionaries of the Bible as resources
This is Leviticus 25:1-7 in full in Hebrew to English interlinear text. Review this in is entirely to see the full context, and we shall also look at specific verses and words to get a most accurate understanding of what should be followed for gardeners for sabbath year
